Literature Text

We’d gaze up at the sky
Each golden afternoon from
Atop our highest jungle gym tower,
Dreaming of promises-

Of clean air and windmills
Of flying cars and jet packs
Of robots to clean our bedrooms
Of brain chips to download class work straight into our heads
Of automail prosthetics and
Of a fridge that could create any candies we wanted.

I think we mostly dreamed of
Actually finding happiness.

So, this is for :iconpoetryforall:'s weekly prompt. It belongs to prompt #8, "A Futuristic World".
I definitely went in a different direction with this, but hey, nostalgia isn't always positive, yeah.
